According to a timely survey by abillion, one-third of US vegan restaurants claim they are in jeopardy of going out of business. The restaurateurs also noted that social media is essential to drive sales, but many do not have the marketing budget to invest in this promotion.
#SaveVeganRestaurants and We Are Impactors aim to provide these vegan restaurants with the digital exposure they need to not only survive these times but make a decent living. The goal is to drive new audiences to vegan restaurants’ Instagram pages, allowing the restaurants to pull customers in through their social content.
The campaign doesn’t end there. For every review posted on abillion, the company will donate $1 to the cause. The goal is to generate $1 million for US restaurants within a year. We Are Impactors will also donate $5,000 to the restaurant that gains the most followers during the month of April, and Million Dollar Vegan will purchase $1,000 worth of food (and donate it) from the second and third restaurant runner-ups.
Anyone can make an impact today by following a new vegan restaurant, posting a vegan meal on Instagram with the hashtag #SaveVeganRestaurants, and writing a review on abillion.
Actress and restaurateur in her own right, Daniella Monet, emphasized, “Vegan restaurants need our support, because without our voices and our dollars, they may not make it.”
We Are Impactors executive director and Pollution.tv founder Asher Brown seconded, ”Vegan restaurants are the heart of the plant-based community. And they need our help. These incredible local businesses have been fighting nonstop to keep us fed, and now we must fight equally as hard to help them keep their doors open.”
